Corrosion Resistance

Withstand atmospheric environments and corrosive media. It resistant crevice and stress corrosion.

2. Heat Resistance

Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870° and in continuous service to 925°. SS 316L tube is more resistant to carbide precipitation.

3. Welding

SS 316L tube has excellent weldability.

4. Machining

UNS S31600 stainless steel is easier to machine compared to SS316 due to the lower carbon content.

5. Hot and Cold Working

Stainless steel 316L can be hot worked or cold worked. Annealing is necessary to induce the corrosion resistance and remove the internal stresses.
