What is Lap Joint Flange
Lap joint flange RTJ (Ring Type Joint) has a raised face with the groove machined to the face of flange in order to accept metal ring gaskets.
Lap joint flange and lap joint stub end are used together as a assemble system. The stub end will connect with the pipe and lap joint flange slide over the pipe. The flange itself is not fixed to pipes in any way, so that it is free to spin for proper alignment. This flange pairs usually used in low pressure applications without high loads on them.
