SS 304 Butt Weld Cap is a stainless steel pipe fittings which butt weld onto the exterior of a pipe to block off the end of pipeline system. The original material is stainless steel 304 plate. It could be seamless and welded depending on the diameter. Usually the larger diameter cap is weld. The normal size is seamless.

A403 WP304/304L Cap Chemical & Tensile

Type 304/304L stainless steel is a T 300 Series Stainless Steel austenitic. It has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon. It is a Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy.

As American AISI basic grades, the practical difference between 304 and 304L is carbon content only. They have carbon ranges of 0.07% maximum and 0.030% maximum respectively. The lower carbon content in 304L minimizes deleterious carbide precipitation as a result of welding.

However, 304L is common practice to be dual certified as 304 and 304L.

Carbon is a negative element in stainless steel, so the less carbon there is, the better the quality of stainless steel, and the more expensive the price.
