NPT Threaded Hex Bushing is a short pipe with internal and external threads and hex head, it is used to connect two pipe with different diameter.

Threaded bushing is available in various threads, such as NPT and BSP. NPT is American threads and very prevalent internationally. The head shape is also diverse, it could be hex head, round head or flush.

Hex Head Bushing VS Hex Head Plug

Their are very similar in appearance, but there are still some difference to distinguish them.

Hex head bushing is a hollow pipe with male and female threads, while hex head plug is a solid pipe with male threads only. And the former is more common in reducing type, while the latter is equal in size.

What’s more, their function is different. NPT Threaded Hex Bushing is used to connection pipes, however, threaded plug is used to block off pipeline at the end.
