What is the Differences with Reducer and Swage Nipple?

Size

The diameter range of reducer and swage nipple is different. Generally speaking, pipe reducer measures from 1/2” to 80”, and swage nipple is available within 12”.

Material

The row material of pipe reducer will be seamless pipe or steel plate, and for carbon steel swage nipple it may be round bar or billet.

Making Process

The manufacturing technique of swage nipple is forged, and as buttweld fitting pipe reducer is hot pressed or cold pressed.

Application

Pipe reducer is only available in butt weld end, so it connect pipes by butt welding. However, A106 B Swag nipple is used to connect butt weld pipes with socket weld or threaded pipes,
